Shirley
Smith-Moore, Artist and Diva Born and raised in central California, Shirley Smith-Moore has been an artist of some type for as long as she can remember. Whether it is drawing portraits, painting in oils, or redesigning some fabulous vintage clothing she has been involved in the arts. She is also a vocal performer –of the torch song, night club variety! In 1992, for the health and wellness of their two daughters, Shirley and Dan moved the family to Brinnon, Washington and have been loving it ever since. Necessary Decadence, LLC started in 2000, and was born out of Shirley’s love for things that feed the soul. Shirley’s jewelry is truly Goddess Wear designed to accentuate the inner Goddess in all women. It is both powerful and feminine and can be worn with everything from jeans to designer gowns. Made with Gemstones, pearls, coral, quartz crystal beads, Chinese coins, tiny seed beads, Sterling Silver, and more - these pieces are as timeless as they are breathtaking. Many customers also enjoy the excitement of having Shirley design a custom piece - working closely with her in a collaborative effort on their very own work of art! So, how does it all start? She is guided by color and form and begins by hand-picking each stone, bead, and centerpiece herself. Only buying those that “feel right” to her. She then goes back to her studio in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest and decides which of her 9 muses she will utilize. Her muses are nine women she loves dearly, each with certain attributes that end up defining the finished piece of jewelry. Shirley has discovered that by using her muses in this way, she is allowed a constant creative flow filled with love and light. And, interestingly, the people who end up buying the jewelry usually have the same attributes as her muses! Isn’t that lovely? Shirley Smith-Moore, fondly know as the 'Multi-Octave
Diva', entertains audiences with her ability to perform a variety of
musical types - her favorite being Torch Songs. As Shirley tells it; "I like to
connect with the audience, so that we can enjoy the musical experience together
-and Torch Songs do that so well because they tend to generate an emotional
response." Shirley has lived in Brinnon, WA for fourteen years, prior to that
she hailed from Fresno, CA.
