Back in the late sixties our father would take us to Crescent Beach on the North coast of Washington State to go Salmon fishing. On clear days one could see Canada across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. In those days the waters were filled with fish and the charter boat industry was thriving. This was an annual trip that became a highlight of my youth. As the years rolled on the effects of human intervention on the Salmon became very apparent. The piece “Petrified” is a reflection of the realities of the world we had, the world today, and where we are headed
